Lloyd Atkins joined Canterbury late in 1935 as half back for the third grade team.
Lloyd developed into a centre and was a permanent member of the reserve grade team for four seasons.
Lloyd's first grade debut for Canterbury was on August 7 in the last 1937 City Cup Competition game which was played in the second half of the season against University.
Lloyd made his first grade premiership debut against Balmain in 1939.
Lloyd was a member of the Premiership winning reserve grade team of 1939.
