Fred Dunn joined Canterbury in 1950 as a goal kicking fullback.
He became a regular in reserve grade in his initial season. Fred's first grade debut in 1951 occurred when Ron Willey was injured.
Fred did not secure the fullback position in first grade until Ron Willey departed the club. From 1955 to 1957, Fred was the regular first grade fullback.
After retirement, he continued in administration with the club. Fred was the Football Club treasurer from 1960 to 1970 and became a Life Member of the Football Club.
In 2004, Fred was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
